Digital works

For my senior project at Boston College, my works explore the ideas and paradoxes and the states of aloneness and togetherness which accompany a romantic relationship. My work is engaged with how to represent the joining of two souls in love, and the inherent separate natures of the two individuals. I am interested in how they simultaneously function as one unit yet are aware of their isolation and be joined by that mutual aloneness.
I decided to work with imagery of hands. Holding hands is one of the simplest gestures of love, but also one of the most intimate. The visual form of the joining of the fingers and the disconnect of the hands portrays an image of something that is together and separate.

The alumni panel is hosted annually by the Boston College Korean Students Association to connect past and present members, serving as a reminder that the KSA community extends past our undergraduate tenures. The focus of the panel is twofold: (1) the experience of being Asian American in a predominantly Caucasian corporate environment and (2) the value of being involved with KSA, in the context of the greater BC experience. The panel features six alumni from diverse backgrounds including EY, NEPC, Arnold & Porter, Education First, and representing fields in nursing, accounting, education, and legal services industry

Boston College Korean Students Association hosts an annual Coffeehouse, a casual event where students can enjoy Korean coffee and watch their friends and fellow students perform. The performances can include dancing, singing, spoken works by anyone in the BC community. It is a chance for students to showcase their talents outside of an academic setting. This event takes place right before finals week to encourage community bonding.

I was inspired by the Korean rapper RM’s second mixtape featuring bilingual slow raps and alternate R&B. Unlike his usual raps, this “playlist” is filled with songs that—as Vulture magazines puts— "sounds like how settling into a lukewarm bath feels: cleansing, just the right amount of steamy, and soothing to the touch.”
I wanted the imagery of a single umbrella by an empty chair, which hints at a presence unseen, almost as if we had just missed the person who had been occupying the chair a moment before, as well as the muted palette and the thin scribbly text to depict a sense of melancholy that permeates through this album.

Like Vonnegut’s style, this short story is also full of repetition, dark disorganized chronology and short blunt sentences.

Absolut Vodka became the #1 premium vodka in the world in 2017. It achieved this status by notably launching over 1,500 different creative and artistic promotional ad campaign over the course of 25 years. It even piqued the interest of Andy Warhol, who created Absolut’s famous print campaign in 1986.
I was inspired to create an addition to these ads. While creating “Absolut Purity,” I was encouraged to explore the Absolut brand, as well as their clients. I created this ad with the idea of a taste: a vodka tasting as clear and pure as water, and created this heavenly sky seen through the transparent bottle.
